South Africa reports high Covid-19 recovery rate

The total Covid-19 recoveries reported by South Africa on Thursday amount to 526,242, representing 85%.

However, at the moment, the spread of the pandemic remains unstoppable in the country, according to statistics from health authorities, although at a lower rate than in last few weeks.

According to Health Minister Dr. Zweli Mkhize, the nation currently reports 615,701 cases.

Some 2,684 new Covid-19 patients were reported in the last 24 hours, Mkhize said in his daily report about the disease.

According to the text, some 194 deaths more from the pandemic were registered since Wednesday, 57 of them occurred in KwaZulu-Natal province, 61 in Gauteng, four in Northern Cape, 12 in Eastern Cape, and 60 in neighboring Western Cape.

The Covid-19 death toll in South Africa rose to 13,502.
