Under the golden lights of the Théâtre du Châtelet, Ousmane Dembélé wrote the brightest chapter of his career today by winning the 2025 Ballon d'Or, accompanied by an ovation that resonated to the banks of the Seine.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward claimed the highest individual honor after leading his club to a near-perfect season, in which they conquered the Champions League, Ligue 1, and the Coupe de France, leaving only the Club World Cup unclaimed.

His ability to destabilize defenders, combined with his speed and vision, made him the standard-bearer for a PSG side that dominated Europe and the key figure for the French national team.

The gala was hosted by Ruud Gullit, the Dutch football legend, 1987 Ballon d'Or winner, and two-time European Cup champion with AC Milan, alongside British journalist Kate Scott, a regular face on CBS Sports' Champions League broadcasts with Thierry Henry.

Ronaldinho, an icon of both PSG and Barcelona, had the honor of presenting the award, a decision that maintained suspense until the final second as the two favorites, Dembélé and Barcelona's Lamine Yamal, stood side-by-side.

An evening filled with elegance and anticipation paid tribute to the Frenchman's electric style of play and a career that found its ultimate consecration in this campaign.

Applause from former stars and the emotion of local fans gave the night an air of coronation, as if Paris was confirming its new king.
