Maduro describes Venezuela’s participation at COP27 a total success

Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, Nov 10 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro described his country's participation in the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change as a total success.

nterviewed in the aircraft returning home, Maduro said that it was a day of high impact, within the summit itself, regarding the positions taken on behalf of his country, especially the creation of Fund Financing to support the countries that have been victims of natural disasters. The president expressed that this issue has been brought up at these meetings and accepted for the first time.

The head of State highlighted that the demand had a high impact at COP27, in the Bolivarian Republic, and the international public opinion.

The president pointed out that the summit, ongoing until November 18, has to see whether a consensus was reached because it was the segment of the heads of State and Government. Now negotiations continue on different topics.

He expressed that the fundamental issue is Fund Financing to support countries that have been victims of natural disasters,a key issue that requires development and debate.

Maduro stated that the item of food security, further aggravated due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, is an existential challenge that the country is assuming in trying to turn Venezuela, with more than 33 million hectares of good soil and water, into a food power.
