The Canadian market posted an increase in tourist arrivals to Cuba in July 2025 compared with previous years. Lessner Gómez, Cuba’s tourism counselor in Canada, reported that 50,083 visitors traveled from Canada to the Caribbean archipelago, representing 112.34 percent of the figure recorded in 2024.
“This means a recovery this summer, thanks to all the efforts being made in Cuba, across our entire destination and in all hotels. The quality of our tourist facilities has improved, customer satisfaction is very positive, and this has restored great confidence when it comes to selling the destination,” Gómez told the specialized outlet Sol de Cuba.
However, figures from Cuba’s National Office of Statistics and Information indicate that the overall total for the first seven months of the year, 478,388 visitors, remains below the 622,204 arrivals in the same period last year. Still, the July rebound aligns with the Cuban tourism industry’s push to strengthen its principal market.
The tourism counselor emphasized that “the most interesting aspect is that the figures are very similar to those of 2019.”
He expressed optimism for the upcoming winter season, pointing to the Canadian market as “a demonstration of the confidence it has in our tourism destination, for the sun, the beaches, our culture, and above all, our people.”
Gómez also highlighted the steady interest of repeat visitors who continue to return to the island.
