At a press conference, Marta Bonet said that the meeting will be devoted to dance music, which for many years has represented the island in the five continents.

Concerts, performances and cultural exchanges are included in the schedule of the event. The opening ceremony will take place at the Covarrubias Hall of the National Theater with a concert performed by the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba along with the Symphonic Bossa Nova, Raul Torres and Vania Borges.

Adalberto Alvarez and Elio Reve will be the honorary presidents. During the event will also take place a concert by singer Omara Portuondo and Buena Vista Social Club, Marta Bonet added.

The event will be attended by the Dominican singers Johnny Ventura and Jose Alberto Justiniano Andujar and the Spanish singer Maria del Mar Bonet.

The talented American pianist Bill Meyer, the Argentine musician Lucas Segovia and the Spanish mezzo-soprano Ana Maria Ruimonte will also be present at the event.

During the event will be awarded special prizes to the CD-DVD 'Umbrales' by Sergio Vitier, the collection 'A Guitarra Limpia' by the Pablo de la Torriente Brau Center, the album 'Tronco Viejo' by Johnny Ventura and the album 'Hay quien precisa', a collaboration between the Cuban Liuba María Hevia and the Venezuelan Cecilia Todd, among others.
