Moghimi, who also heads the Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO), has traveled to Cuba on behalf of Iran’s minister of industry, mining, and trade to take part in the 39th Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV 2023).

The official visit of the Iranian delegation to Cuba is in line with the implementation of the Iranian government’s policy for the expansion of trade and industrial cooperation with the Latin American countries and following the agreements made in the recent visit of President Ebrahim Raisi to this region.

In the meeting with Cabrisas, the two sides emphasized the need for expanding bilateral trade cooperation in the field of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME).

Moghimi also held talks with the deputy minister of industries and president of the steel and industrial company of Cuba to discuss bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Moghimi expressed his organization’s readiness to strengthen cooperation in the field of agricultural equipment and machinery.

Also, the issues related to the Iranian companies present at the FIHAV exhibition that encountered obstacles in the process of signing contracts with their Cuban partners were raised, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade of Cuba promised to remove these obstacles and facilitate the activities of Iranian companies.

According to the officials, the two countries enjoy high potentials and capabilities to expand their cooperation in all fields, especially in the field of trade and economy.

Iran has held a pavilion in the 39th FIHAV exhibition which kicked off at the EXPOCUBA Fairgrounds on November 6 and will run through November 11.

Moghimi visited the official pavilion of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this exhibition together with Ahmed Javanmardi, the director of the ISIPO Market Development and International Affairs Office.
