XI Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Convened

The XI Plenum will evaluate the implementation of the Government Program aimed at correcting economic distortions and revitalizing the economy. This program has been under study and debate since last November 15th until December 30th. The meeting will also analyze the economic objectives and goals for 2026 and the proposed State Budget for the upcoming year.

Furthermore, members of the Central Committee will exchange views on the damages caused by Hurricane Melissa and the progress of recovery efforts in the eastern provinces, as well as the situation regarding the impacts of previous natural events.

As is customary in these meetings, the Political Bureau will report on its work and inform on the principal decisions made during this period. This takes place amid the organizational process for the IX Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, scheduled for April 16-19, 2026—the year in which the centenary of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz will be celebrated.
