The Cuban company Teatro La Proa announced today the revival of the show "¡Cuidado, hay perros!" (Beware, There Are Dogs!) this weekend at its venue located in Havana.

First staged in 2018, the play narrates the encounter between two puppeteers who share a fondness for pets, especially dogs.

The artistic director of the company, Arneldy Cejas, stated in a release that it is "an opportunity to enjoy poems, jokes, songs, riddles, and stories of famous dogs."

Characters such as Rin Tin Tin, Lassie, "El Sarnoso," and "El Carnicero" appear in a dramaturgy that weaves popular wisdom with the lyricism of Eliseo Diego, Vinicius de Moraes, María Elena Walsh, Ivette Vian, and René Fernández Santana, among others, he added.

The leading roles are played by actors Dailín Anaya and Deiby Aguilar. The creative team includes Erduyn Maza (playwriting), Ariel Díaz (music), and Arneldy Cejas himself (costume, set, and puppet design).

The performances will take place this Saturday and Sunday at 11:00 a.m. local time at the Teatro La Proa venue, located at Avenida Carlos III and Retiro, in the Centro Habana municipality.

"¡Cuidado, hay perros!" has been featured at the Espacio Vital Small Format Theatre Festival (2018), the Puppet Festival at Expocuba, the 13th International Puppet Workshop Festival FESTITIM, an International Tour to Puebla, Mexico (2018), the XXVI Mejunje Teatral Festival, and the 18th International Theatre Festival of Havana (2019), among other national and international events.
