Engage Cuba Shapes Group of Experts on US-Cuban Relations

The US organization Engage Cuba, which fosters the lifting of Washington''s blockade of Cuba, announced the shaping up of a group of experts to boost the relations between both countries. The panel, called Council of the Policy towards Cuba (CPC), is composed of experts from academic centers and professionals from different sectors that will provide information and conclusions on the challenges and opportunities of the relations between both countries, for them to continue moving forward, said a communique issued by the entity.

We are incredibly excited to unite this group of leaders that worked on issues related to Cuba and Latin America for several decades, for them to contribute their great experience on international politics, said Engage Cuba President James Williams.

The commission is composed of Kirby Jones, president of Alamar Associates, Christopher Sabatini, expert at Columbia University, Emily Parker, member of the organization New America, Guillermo Grenier, professor at Florida International University and Philip Peters, president of Cuba Research Center.

The list also includes William LeoGrande, professor of the American University and co-writer, together with Peter Kornbluh, of the book "Back Channel to Cuba: The Hidden History of Negotiations between Washington and Havana.
