Russia analyzes possible US involvement in appearance of SARS-CoV-2

Moscow, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Ministry of Defense reported it is analyzing the possibility that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is involved in the appearance of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The head of the Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defense of the Russian Armed Forces, General Igor Kirillov, told the press that since 2009 the US organization financed the Predict program, which studied new strains of coronavirus, capturing bats acting as vectors of these pathogens.

The officer also stated that before the emergence of the pandemic, the US-based Hopkins Institute organized exercises where it tested the response to a hitherto unknown coronavirus epidemic.

“The implementation of the Covid-19 scenario and the emergency liquidation of the Predict program by USAID in 2019 suggest the deliberate nature of the pandemic and the involvement of Washington in its appearance,” Kirillov emphasized.

The general also argued that the significant differences in the lethality of the variants of the virus and the irregularity of its propagation suggest it is of human origin.

He also argued that Russian experts assure that this is evidenced by the uncharacteristic variability of the genovariants that cause most coronaviruses, the significant differences in terms of lethality and contagion, the uneven geographical distribution and the unpredictable nature of the epidemic process as a whole.

Kirillov stressed that, based on the evidence collected, it is valid to assure that the pandemic was artificially fueled by the “introduction” of new variants of the virus in a specific region, “despite the efforts made to contain and isolate cases”, and recalled the words of the expert from the The Lancet medical journal, Jeffrey Sachs, who declared in May 2022 that the coronavirus was created artificially, and most likely using US advances in biotechnology
