National Cuban Radio Festival begins in Holguin

With more than 200 works in competition of producers from all over the country and the presence of several National Radio Award winners, the National Cuban Radio Festival began today and will be held in the province of Holguin until November 17.
After thirteen years without being held, the contest has a prestigious jury, made up of artists and specialists of the medium, which met in the city parks since last November 5 and is chaired by Ernesto Martinez Robles, National Radio Award.
The awards of the contest will take place on November 16, at the Cabaret Nocturno, where awards will be given for the different specialties such as script, direction, male and female voice-over, acting, dramatized narration and sound production, as well as musical, varied, dramatized, advertising and Internet productions, the latter, as a novelty of this edition.
In addition to these, there are special categories: Centenary of Radio in Cuba, use of heritage in radio production, crisis communication (COVID 19, Hotel Saratoga, Supertanqueros Base, Hurricane Ian), program aimed at a specific target (children, adolescents, youth, women, peasants and senior citizens), life stories, Tarea Vida, 170th anniversary of the birth of José Martí and 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.
The contest will feature a theoretical event on November 14 and 15 at the Pernik Hotel, aimed at promoting the exchange of its directors through professional panels, including “The use of heritage as an input for radio production”, “Research on the history of local radio: A centennial look”, “Productive routines and citizen participation” and “Musical culture and its dissemination on the radio”.
In keeping with the 100th anniversary of Cuban Radio, the National Festival allows distinguishing creative talent and stimulating audience participation in the development of this medium.
