La Casona Azul: A Space for Learning and Creation for Young People
especiales

The Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Santiago de Cuba is developing the workshops La Casona Azul as a meeting point for learning and creation in various artistic disciplines.
Rey Luis Correa, vice president of the organization that brings together the province’s young artistic vanguard, told the Cuban News Agency that this space, held annually for one week during the summer, seeks to encourage knowledge with basic notions of contemporary Cuban poetry, broadcasting, and Asian cultural crafts among younger generations.
He explained that the workshops provide an experiential approach, with the guidance of instructors, artists, and researchers who promote the exchange of knowledge and the formation of more sensitive and critical audiences.
Correa affirmed that the space takes its name from the traditional Blue Mansion of Vista Alegre, home of the AHS in Santiago, and is conceived as a community and cultural project aimed at strengthening identity and the connection of young people with art.
With initiatives such as La Casona Azul, the AHS in Santiago de Cuba reaffirms its commitment to promoting emerging talent and creating inclusive spaces where art is experienced as a collective and transformative force.
During the summer, the organization maintained a broad program of activities, bringing culture to communities in the Plan Turquino area, and organizing festivals such as the electronic music festival PlayArte, the Caribbean Young Creators Festival Almas Nuevas, and the Japanese Cultural Days, among others.
