A donation valued at 600,000 dollars was received at the Antonio Maceo Grajales International Airport in Santiago de Cuba, sent by the United Nations System and the European Union (EU), respectively, for those affected by recent meteorological events.
The member of the Central Committee of the Party, of the Council of State, and first secretary of the political organization in the province thanked, on behalf of the people of Cuba, “the solidarity help that, as other times, international agencies provide us as part of the action plan of the United Nations system in response to disaster situations,” while highlighting the actions of our country “that fights and works to get ahead.”
The reception ceremony for this shipment of 100 tons of essential supplies and allocation of 600 thousand euros for communities affected by Hurricane Oscar, was attended by Isabel Brilhante Pedrosa, EU ambassador to Cuba, and Manuel Falcón Hernández, Governor of Santiago de Cuba.
