Cuban parliamentarians visit sites of social interest in Las Tunas

Havana, Sep 16 (Prensa Latina) The president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (parliament), Esteban Lazo, today visited vulnerable neighborhoods in the eastern province of Las Tunas, as part of the second day of his visit here.

Lazo arrived this Friday to constituency 58 “El Rincón”, one of the six communities undergoing transformation in the municipality of Majibacoa, where he spoke with the delegate and residents.

During his tour, he talked with young health professionals from clinic number seven in that area.

Likewise, at the Majagual farm, of the Las Tunas Agricultural Company, he verified the production plan foreseen in that pole, he was interested in the progress of the plantain planting plan and called for strengthening the populations.

The parliamentarians of the eight permanent work commissions of the Cuban legislature will carry out an extensive plan of activities until September 17, which includes dialogues with the population, delegates, presidents of popular councils and other authorities in neighborhoods, communities and work and student centers of the territory.

In the municipalities of Puerto Padre, Colombia, Amancio, Majibacoa, Jobabo, Manatí, Jesús Menéndez and Las Tunas, the parliamentary delegation will verify the impact of the country’s prioritized policies and programs.

Complying with agreements adopted by the National Assembly that correspond to the territory and giving attention to measures to strengthen the economy, will also be evaluated.

In addition, they will examine the progress of the measures to face the country’s energy situation, the actions to confront Covid-19 and the vector fight, as well as the work carried out for the referendum on the Family Code.
