Friends of Cuba in Nicaragua Reaffirm Solidarity with the Island

Friends of Cuba in Nicaragua reaffirmed their solidarity with the island during a fundraising event aimed at acquiring and sending medicines to the Caribbean nation, the Cuban Embassy in Managua reported today.

According to the diplomatic mission, the activity was organized by Nicaraguan solidarity committees as part of the ongoing “Marathon of Love for Cuba” campaign.

The event, filled with a spirit of solidarity and cultural appreciation, brought together members of the community in a festive atmosphere that featured traditional dance performances, poetry recitations, and a sampling of Nicaraguan cuisine.

Attendees reiterated their commitment to continue supporting Cuba amid the ongoing challenges resulting from the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than six decades.

The embassy noted that the celebration not only aimed to raise funds but also to strengthen the historical bonds of friendship between Cuba and Nicaragua.

The “Marathon of Love for Cuba” is an international solidarity campaign taking place throughout 2025, coinciding with the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP).

The initiative seeks to reinforce global ties of friendship and support for the Cuban people through a variety of activities and solidarity actions in several countries. Its goals include raising funds, spreading awareness, and promoting unity in the pursuit of just causes.
