The President of the Cuban Olympic Committee, Roberto León Richards Aguiar, and the President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Alfaisal Al Saud, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding intended to strengthen bilateral relations.

Expanding Cooperation and Development

Executed in Riyadh, the capital of the Asian nation, during the context of the VI Islamic Solidarity Games, the document expresses the will to develop cooperation and promote friendly relations based on the principles of respect and a community of interests.

It establishes, among other actions to be implemented, the exchange of sports programs between institutions, associations, and federations of both countries, and the training of sports personnel through the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

Focus on Education and Direct Collaboration

The memorandum also considers encouraging cooperation in the educational sector, the training of coaches and officials, and technical and administrative staff. Furthermore, it aims to foster direct cooperation between the Olympic committees and the athletes' committees of both nations.

The agreement additionally establishes the purpose of stimulating visits by officials and national teams and increasing direct links between national sports teams.

High-Level Meetings

During his working visit, Richards held dialogues with other dignitaries, including the President and Secretary General of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), Robin E. Mitchell and Gunilla Lindberg, respectively.
