Cuban Film Wins Audience Award at Toulouse Festival

"El Acompañante", directed by Pavel Giroud, tells the story of boxing champion Horacio Romero, who pays his doping sentence as companion of Daniel, a patient with HIV.

That film recently won the Audience Award at the 33rd Miami International Film Festival, considered the main venue for Latin American films in the United States.

"El Acompañante", has also been acclaimed at film festivals in Chicago and Havana.

The Colombian film "Siembra" by Angela Osorio and Santiago Lozano, won the Grand Award for best feature film.

The feature film "Alba" by Ecuadorian Ana Cristina Barragan won the Fipresci Award, given by international critics.

In this 28th film festival of Toulouse more than 150 films were screened.
