Real Madrid and Atletico Win in Champions League

Last season’s finalists both secured a victory in their second game of the Champions League group stage held Wednesday.
The current European football champions Real Madrid defeated Bulgarian club Ludogorets 2-1 and now top their group.
Yet the much less famous Ludogorets got ahead early in the game with a goal by Brazilian Marcelinho in the sixth minute of the match, which was played in Bulgaria's capital city Sofia.
Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo tied the game with a penalty on 25 minutes before French striker Karim Benzema scored the winning goal with 13 minutes remaining.
The world player of the year now has an amazing 54 goals in 53 Champions League appearances for Real Madrid.
Atletico Madrid, who lost against Real Madrid in the last Champions' final, defeated Italian champion Juventus in the Vicente Calderon stadium.
In a tough and defensive game, with very few opportunities, Atletico's striker Arda Turan scored the only goal on 74 minutes. With that, Atletico now top their group with three points, after losing against Olympiakos in their first match of this year’s tournament. In the same group Malmoe defeated 2-0 Olympiakos.
Elsewhere, Colombian striker Adrian Ramos scored two goals in the victory of Borussia Dortmund against Belgian club Anderlecht, in a game that ended 3-0. Dortmund tops its group after winning both of its two games in the competition.
Another German team Bayern Leverkusen also won, defeating Portugul´s Benfica 3-1, with goals of Stefan Kiessling, Son Heung-min, and Hakan Calhanoglu. Argentine Eduardo Salvio scored the only Benfica's goal.
In London, Arsenal defeated 4-1 Galatasaray with a hatrick from recent recruit Danny Welbeck, signed in August from Manchester United, and one goal from Chilean player Alexis Sánchez. Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina debuted for Arsenal after Wojciech Szczensy was sent off on 60 minutes.
However another English giant had a much worse night. Swiss club Basilea surprised Liverpool winning 1-0 with a goal by striker Marco Srteller, making Liverpool’s chance of qualifying for the knock-out stage much more difficult.
