The Venezuelan Parliamentary Friendship Group with Cuba called the U.S. government to immediately remove Cuba from the states-sponsor-of-terrorism (SST) list.

A document circulated on social networks by Edgardo Ramirez, president of the group, indicated that “we are unquestionably facing a vile action” that contravenes the principles of International Public Law and the democratic values of the sovereign peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.

In a special way, he acknowledged “our sister Cuba”, which with heroism, courage, love for the homeland, conviction and determination has faced the economic war and the criminal U.S. blockade for over 60 years.

The only truth is that the Democratic and Republican governments have exercised State terrorism against Cuba and caused the death of nearly 3,000 people, the text pointed out, while underlining that Cuba does not surrender and defends with dignity the socialist project and upholds solidarity with the peoples of the world.

The Friendship Group, faithful to the values of self-determination of the peoples, sovereignty, justice and Bolivarian diplomacy of peace, categorically rejected the unilateral, illegal and criminal actions of the U.S. government against the Cuban people.

We join the vast majority of the international community that demands the removal of Cuba from the SST list.
