Venezuela supports Cuban Foreign Minister’s complaints

Caracas, Jul 11 (Prensa Latina) Bruno Rodriguez today criticized the lack of transparency and the manipulative behavior of the European Union in the preparation of the III Celac-EU Summit, and Venezuela decisively supported this.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced in a statement that these actions seriously threaten the success of the meeting, to be held in Brussels on July 17 and 18.

CELAC has been making important contributions for several months, under the coordination of its Pro Tempore Presidency, regarding a “democratic, inclusive and effective” summit format.

This work would allow the reconstruction of a bi-regional work agenda, aimed at “cooperation and reversing the deterioration of our integral relationship in recent years”.

The decision of the European Union (EU) to impose its own format on the III Summit would be disrespectful to the main forum for dialogue and cooperation among all the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, and threatens to cause the failure of the efforts made towards its organization, he stressed.
