US Not After Talks, Seeking to Subdue Iran: Pezeshkian

In comments during a visit to the southern port city of Bushehr on Thursday, Pezeshkian denounced the US president’s threats against Iran.
The president said Iran has not ruled out talks or dialogue, but negotiations would be meaningless when US President Donald Trump tries to impose conditions and slap sanctions on Iran before claiming to favor dialogue.
The US administration is not after negotiations, but is after subduing Iran, Pezeshkian stated, adding that such a thing will never materialize.
He stressed that the enemies won’t be able to block Iran’s progress.
The US sanctions cannot paralyze Iran, although the Islamic Republic does not intend to be sanctioned, the president stated.
He emphasized that Iran favors peace and friendship with all countries and tries to maintain cordial ties with the neighbors.
In remarks on February 7, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the negotiations with the United States have no effect on solving Iran’s problems.
“We must understand this correctly. What they say shouldn’t make it seem to us that if we sit at the negotiating table with that government, this or that problem will be solved. No, negotiations with the US won’t solve any problems. The reason? Experience!” the Leader said.
