Havana, May 23 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez stated that the interventionist and dominant interests of the United States have a high humanitarian cost, which has caused the death of millions of people.

The head of Cuban diplomacy posted on Twitter data showing that at least 4.5 million people have died due to the wars waged by the United States in its alleged crusade against terrorism since 2001, the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University reported.

The report “reviews the latest research to examine the causal pathways that led to an estimated 3.7 million indirect deaths in post-9/11 conflicts,” when a terrorist attack in New York killed nearly 3,000 people.

Although the exact number of deaths is unknown, the analysis estimates that the total death toll from those wars could be at least 4.5 million.

The so-called war on terrorism began after the September 11 attacks in the United States, and under the pretext of eliminating radical groups, human rights violations have been committed against the affected populations, and dozens of international agreements have been ignored, the expert stated.
