The Cuban Embassy in Mexico on Tuesday offered an update on the health condition of the victims of the traffic accident in Chiapas last Sunday, in which 10 women lost their lives.

The highest authority of the Cuban Consular Section in that North American country, Miguel Angel Moreno Carpio informed on the social network X, that of the 17 injured, 10 were discharged and seven are still hospitalized.

He indicated that, of the seven patients, two are minors, who were transferred to more specialized centers, one by air (the most critical) and the other by land.

The diplomat declared that of the 10 deceased in the incident, four remain unidentified.

Moreno Carpio assured that, at this moment, in coordination with the Mexican authorities, actions are being carried out to repatriate the bodies of the Cuban women to the island.

The local press stated that the incident took place on the Pijijiapan-Tonalá highway, on the coast of Chiapas, when a three-ton truck with no license plate overturned, in which 26 Cuban migrants were traveling.
