London, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) The Cuba Solidarity Campaign (CSC) in the United Kingdom on Tuesday mourned the death of Camilo Guevara, the eldest son of legendary Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara.

The CSC sends its condolences to Camilo’s family and friends, especially his sister Aleida Guevara, a dear friend of the campaign who has visited the UK on several occasions, the organization that brings together thousands of British people in solidarity with Cuba said in a communiqué.

Camilo Guevara died of a pulmonary embolism in Caracas on Monday that led to a heart attack, Prensa Latina reported from the Venezuelan capital on Tuesday.

The second of the guerrilla commander’s four children with Aleida March, from Cuba, was born in 1962, and at the time of his death, he was the director of the Che Guevara Study Center, an institution founded in Havana to promote knowledge of his father’s thinking, life and work.

In its communiqué, the CSC also echoes the message of condolences sent by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel to his mother Aleida, his widow and daughters, and the entire Guevara March family.
