“In total, nine missiles were launched, three of which landed near the special building number two, where new nuclear materials of the TVEL company and solid radioactive waste are stored,” the military corps explained in its daily press release on the military operation.

It added that ammunition fragments damaged several pipelines.

A fourth shell hit the area of generation unit six and the remaining five fell in front of the pumping station used to cool the reactor, it added.

The Ministry confirmed that the attacks were executed from the Ukraine-controlled town of Mariev in the Dnipro province, and were repelled by the Russian military with counter-battery fire.

“The regime in Kiev continues its provocations to create the danger of a nuclear technological accident at the Zaporizhzhia power plant,” the Russian military stated.

At the same time, it stressed that Ukrainian personnel together with Russian troops control the technological situation at the plant, and ensure its operation within the parameters of normality.
