Two Cubans to Take Part in Brics E-Sports Championship

Cubans Leonardo Baragaño and Pedro Carlos Mendoza will be present at the Brics 2025 Championship of electronic sports that begins today in Moscow, capital of Russia.
This was informed by Javier Vidal, president of the Electronic Sports Association of Cuba (Adec, for its Spanish acronyms), at the head of the delegation.
The championship, which will run until June 3, focuses on Tekken 8, one of the most popular games in the fighting genre.
The competitions will take place at the VK Play Arena center in the city and will involve 44 players from 22 countries.
The American continent will also be represented by teams from Bolivia and Brazil.
According to the Russian Esports Federation, organizer of the event, each nation will be able to include only two players in the competition, who will compete in elimination tournaments to determine the finalists.
It will be the third time that the Eurasian territory hosts the tournament, after the successful editions of 2023 and 2024. The previous championships were led by gamer Roulin XCC Chen, from China.
