Damascus, Sep 6 (Prensa Latina) Syrian forces liquidated Muhammad Iyad Abdul Razzaq, a.k.a. Abu Qassem Al-Aqrabawi, a leader of the Islamic State (ISIS, Daesh), in the south of the country.

According to local media, the extremist was killed during a raid on his house.

Al-Aqrabawi was the assistant to Abu Salem Ir, leader of the organization in Syria, who was killed himself on August 10th in a similar operation in the town of Tafas, in the same governorate.

Abdul Razzaq was involved in many assassination actions against police, military and social figures linked to the process of reconciliation, in addition to attacking army positions and buses, according to reports.

According to analysts, since its defeat in 2018, Daesh has resorted to guerrilla warfare tactics and attacks based on clear intelligence instructions to wear down Syrian troops and their allies.
