Rabat, Jun 28 (Prensa Latina) Solidarity organizations with Latin America and Cuba donated an artwork made by renowned Cuban painter Luis Alberto Ruiz to the Moroccan people from the northern city of Tangier, diplomatic sources reported on Monday.

The painting, entitled 'Novia de Tánger' (Tangier's Girlfriend), was presented by the presidents of the Friendship and Solidarity Association between Morocco and Latin America, and the Friendship and Solidarity Association between Cubans and Moroccans of France, Randa Jebrouni and Haydeline Diaz, respectively.

According to the report, the ceremony was attended by Cuban Ambassador Javier Domokos Ruiz, and cultural and intellectual personalities from Tangier.

The report from the Cuban Embassy stated that the beautiful painting will be exhibited at the Villa Harris Museum, as a token of the friendship between the peoples of Cuba and Morocco.

The Villa Harris Museum, an old mansion built in the 19th century by British Times correspondent Walter Burton Harris, has been considered a Moroccan national heritage site since 2007 and exhibits artworks by national and foreign modern and contemporary artists.
