The University of Matanzas (UM) is hosting the 10th International Workshop "Humanistic Disciplines in Education" (Humanistics 2025), an academic event intended to promote dialogue among researchers from various countries.
Bárbara Maricely Fierro Chong, chair of the organizing committee, said that the workshop gathers university students and professors from Cuba, Angola, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Russia, Uruguay, and Argentina.
The program features five committees to discuss the challenges facing humanistic subjects in the fields of education, art, culture, and the development of values at provincial level.
Emilce Beatriz Sánchez Castellón, a professor at the University of La Guajira in Colombia who has participated in this event since its first edition, remarked that her school will renew its academic exchange agreement with the UM, an achievement that comes on top of the opportunities offered by Peruvian universities to make the teaching and educational processes more visible.
“Humanistics 2025” includes presentations of books and scientific journals, keynote lectures, and a tour of the city's old section to promote the province’s local identity and heritage.
