Moscow, Jan 27 (Prensa Latina) Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov positively assessed the outcome of the meeting of the political advisers to the heads of State of the Normandy Quartet in Paris on Thursday.

Addressing journalists, the official said that “nobody actually expected or could have expected any breakthrough understanding or action” from the meeting between representatives of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France.

According to Peskov, “it is not bad” that participants are trying to understand that the fulfillment of the Minsk package of measures is a common denominator for the peaceful settlement of the conflict in southeastern Ukraine.

The Kremlin press chief warned that it remains to be analyzed how the Quartet’s member countries have come to a situation where several parties, participants in the Minsk negotiation process, “have different understanding of a most clear formulation.”

Held on Wednesday in the French capital, the meeting of political advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Quartet lasted eight and a half hours.

Regarding its results, Dmitry Kozak, deputy chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Administration, who represented Moscow, stated that “there is nothing to boast about,” while he announced that the next consultations will take place in two weeks in Berlin.
