Russian army repels Ukrainian attacks in Donetsk region

Russian military forces repelled attacks on two armored combat vehicles and a company of Ukrainian troops in the line of operations in southern Donetsk, Battlegroup East Spokesman Oleg Chekhov informed on Wednesday.
 
Two combat vehicles were destroyed, enemy troops were eliminated, and a Ukrainian attack in the Makarovka settlement direction was repelled during the fighting, Chekhov wrote on Telegram.

The Russian gunners destroyed a pickup truck with military forces in the Novomikhailovka region, and the Russian tactical aviation helicopters struck areas of concentration of Ukrainian troops in Makarovka, Urozhainoye, and Levadny, the military spokesman said.

On the Zaporozhye line of operation, the gunners put two towed howitzers out of action in the Preobrazhenka and Lukyanovsky regions; and an electronic warfare station was destroyed in the Novodanylivka region. Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24, 2022.

President Vladimir Putin stated that it aims to protect the population from “Ukraine’s genocide” and stop risks to national security.
