Moscow, Nov 11 (Prensa Latina) Russia's Sputnik V vaccine is 92% effective at protecting people from Covid-19, whose spread forced to impose new restrictions in Moscow.

The vaccine produced by the N.F. Gamalei National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology proved its effectiveness, after the first test of the third clinical trial stage or post-registration phase of the mentioned vaccine was done.

To reach this conclusion, the trials done over 16,000 volunteers who received the vaccine 21 days after the first of two injections were tested. Sputnik V was registered on August 11 as the first vaccine globally to fight the aforementioned ailment.

In addition, among 10,000 other volunteers vaccinated outside the clinical testing program, the Russian vaccine was 90% effective, the Ministry of Health noted.

On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared at a virtual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization that the Covid-19 vaccine should be a common public good.

The Russian head of State assured that Sputnik V and EpivacCorona, the two coronavirus vaccines recorded in Russia, proved they are safe, as there are no serious consequences after use.
