Russia destroys six HIMARS launchers

Moscow, Aug 2 (Prensa Latina) Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported that the Armed Forces destroyed six US-supplied HIMARS multiple rocket launchers along with over 200 missiles during attacks against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In a telephone conference broadcast by the TASS agency, the minister added that the Russian troops also eliminated 33 M777 howitzers, also sent by Washington to Kiev, and five Harpoon anti-ship missile systems.

Shoigu stated that in the last two weeks the Ukrainian troops lost 396 Javelin complexes and NLAW light anti-tank weapons, as well as 125 Stinger-type man-portable air defense systems.

“The Russian Armed Forces continue to cover civilian targets in the areas liberated from enemy aerial means. In the last month alone, 34 Ukrainian aircraft were shot down and we intercepted 39 Tochka-U missiles,” the minister explained.

He also specified that the actions of Russia and the militias of the people’s republics of Donetsk (DPR) and Lugansk (PLR) eliminated 226 multiple rocket launcher projectiles, only in July, thus saving the life of thousands of civilians.
