Beloved Cuban Singer Alfredo Rodríguez Dies at 74
The distinguished and beloved Cuban singer Alfredo Rodríguez (1951-2026) passed away today at the age of 74, according to sources close to the author of the hit song "Sagitario" and many other pieces in the national and Latin American songbook.

Upon learning the news, the Ministry of Culture and the Cuban Institute of Music extended their deepest condolences to family and friends, expressing profound sorrow over the loss of Alfredito, as he was affectionately called by the vast majority of his audience.

"Alfredito leaves behind an immense legacy and an indelible mark on the lives of those who admired him; his memory will always live in the hearts of those who followed his artistic career," stated the Cuban Institute of Music in a press note published on its Facebook profile.

A Storied Career in Music and Television
Alfredo Rodríguez's uninterrupted work as a singer and composer since 1968 was also accompanied by a steadfast dedication to communication, as he presented several television programs with high audience ratings: Buenas Tardes, Su noche con Alfredo, and En familia con Alfredo.

Based in the United States for several years, the singer of "Empapado de sudor" and "Que me encapricho" possessed a unique style that led to resounding success on any stage where he performed, including the Karl Marx Theater.
