The Cuban state mission in Angola has created conditions for its members to participate in the referendum on the Family Code, an official source said on Sunday.

In statements to Prensa Latina, Cuban Ambassador Esther Armenteros informed that nearly 2,000 Cubans are being called to the popular referendum.

In view of coming Sunday, Sept 18 elections, 20 polling stations have been set up, 19 of which in Angolan and one in Sao Tome and Principe, Armenteros explained.

Our constituency electoral commission is also in charge of organizing the electoral process in the case of Cuban health professionals working in the neighboring island country.

According to experts, the Family Code Bill responds to the aspirations of citizens in terms of justice, protection of the most vulnerable and respect for diversity and, at the same time, reflects the most advanced international legislation on this subject.
