Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel met here on Friday with workers from the Construction and Assembly Company, as part of the meetings he is holding with people as a candidate to the National People's Power Assembly (Parliament).

The company, based in central Cuba, is integrated into the higher business management organization Construction and Assembly Cubacons, which is attached to the Ministry of Construction.

The enterprise contributes to the local social development by building industrial works, houses, schools, hospitals, hotels, cold stores, daycare centers for children, and reinforcement tasks in airport areas, the installation of generators and other social activities.

In order to guarantee production, it has all the technology installed for these construction systems and the human resources composed of more than 2,600 workers.

Accompanying Diaz-Canel, who is also first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), are seven other candidates for deputies to the National Assembly, including Villa Clara Governor Alberto Lopez, and the president of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), Luis Morlote.

Candidates for legislators will also meet on Friday at the Villa Clara’s branch of Azumat, which is in charge of distributing the necessary inputs for the development of the sugar harvest and other industries.

On Thursday, the Cuban head of State and his entourage met with students and culture teachers, athletes and school sports coaches, service and gastronomy employees, and workers from the Ernesto Guevara Heart Center. At night, they met with hundreds of people in the Leoncio Vidal Park in the city of Santa Clara.
