Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, Mar 16 (Prensa Latina) With the standard-bearing of nearly 8,000 members of the Jose Marti Pioneers Organization to guard the ballot boxes, the national elections, to be held on March 26, are being organized in this Cuban province on Thursday.

The children, selected in all eight municipalities of Sancti Spiritus province, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting this transcendental step established in the Constitution to elect the members of the National People’s Power Assembly (Parliament).

Doany Hernandez, president of the Organization, told reporters that the pioneers, dressed in their uniforms and scarves, will also take the ballots to those who, due to health reasons, are unable to go to the voting centers, as well as guiding the voters in the process.

Hernandez emphasized the patriotic value and the trust placed in the new generations to be the guardians of a democratic act where participants will determine who will represent them in Parliament.

In addition, the Provincial Electoral Council informed that more than 6,500 electoral officials are being trained to work in the voting stations and to report to authorities nationwide.
