Palestine press highlights meeting between Abbas and Díaz-Canel

The Palestinian press highlighted Friday a meeting in Havana between President Mahmoud Abbas and his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, as part of the activities related to the G77+China Summit.
During the meeting, Abbas briefed Díaz-Canel on the latest developments in Palestine, especially the continuous Israeli attacks, Wafa reported.
The Palestinian president also denounced the dangerous expansion of settlements and the confiscation of land by the occupiers, the news agency added.
Abbas expressed “his deep appreciation for the support and solidarity of the Cuban leadership and people towards the just struggle of the Palestinian people for establishing their independent state.
Díaz-Canel, in turn, reaffirmed his country’s unconditional support for the Palestinian cause and its right to freedom, sovereignty, and the establishment of an independent state, Wafa informed.
During the meeting, Abbas and Díaz-Canel discussed several issues of bilateral relations and ways to improve them.
