Palestine Accuses Israel of Launching Scorched Earth Campaign in Gaza

Rawhi Fattouh, chairman of the Palestinian National Council (PNC), accused Israel Saturday of continuing its scorched earth policy and ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip.
    

The Palestinian leader condemned in a statement the repeated Army attacks on the UN agency shelters in that coastal enclave, which has been under fire since October 2023.

Fattouh denounced the latest massacres conducted by the military forces, including the airstrikes on refugee tents and a school that also housed displaced persons.

The PNC chairman noted that such actions expose “the genocidal violence of this aggression and its revenge against Palestinians.”

He stated that 70 percent of the fatalities in that territory are women and children.

Fattouh also urged the United Nations to take immediate steps, including the formation of an international investigative committee, to hold members of the Israeli government accountable.
