New protests break out in West Bank and Israel's prisons

Israel Defense Forces troops fired live ammunition and tear gas at the demonstrators, who in turn threw stones.
Protests began on Wednesday evening in the cities of Hebron, East Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Anabta, Jenin and Tubas in support of six Palestinians who escaped from an Israeli maximum security prison on Monday.
Five of them are members of the Islamic Jihad organization whereas the other is affiliated with Fatah.
Following the escape, the head of the Israel Prison Service, Katy Perry, took measures against the Palestinian detainees such as banning access to the dining room and television, a stance described as revenge for the escape.
However, it was the decision to relocate numerous Islamic Jihad members that triggered fierce protests in the Negev, Raymod, Ofer and Gilboa prisons.
