In the context of Human Rights Day, children in France participated in readings and dialogues about the work of Cuba's National Hero, José Martí, it was reported today.

The promotion of Martí's work was organized by the Cuban embassy in Paris and the French Popular Relief's Book Federation during a cultural day dedicated to childhood and literature.

A notification from the island's Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that "a book of Martí's poems recently translated into French was presented, allowing the young readers to approach the richness of his humanist thought and his poetic sensibility."

"The translation seeks to build bridges between cultures and generations, showing the universal relevance of the values of solidarity, justice, and freedom that permeate the author's work," the note adds.

Regarding the exchange, the notification specifies that it also emphasized "the importance of respect and protection for the rights of Cuban girls and boys as fundamental pillars of a just society."

"The event helped foster a taste for reading, strengthen friendship between peoples, and transmit Martí's legacy as a source of inspiration for peace and international cooperation," the text states.
