Pop Star Condemns US Immigration Agency Actions at Japanese Tour Stop
American singer Lady Gaga spoke out during one of her concerts in Tokyo, Japan, against the actions of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and her country's government.
During one of her five concerts of THE MAYHEM Ball tour at the Tokyo Dome, the artist expressed sorrow for the people, children, and families across the USA who are being mercilessly attacked by ICE, and whose lives are being destroyed "before our eyes." She pointed out that people in Minnesota are living in fear while seeking answers on how to respond to the current situation.
A Plea for Safety and Compassion
Seated at the piano, Lady Gaga highlighted the rupture communities suffer when a sense of safety and belonging is lost. "Return to a safe, calm, and responsible place," she urged, adding that good people should not have to struggle so much or risk their lives for well-being and respect.
The singer and actress concluded the emotional speech by asking US authorities to "quickly change their course of action and have mercy on everyone."
