Kremlin: Supplying Tomahawks to Kyiv Could End Badly

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the supply of long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine “could end badly,” emphasizing that their operation would require the involvement of U.S. specialists.
“The handling of such complex missiles will, one way or another, require the participation of American specialists. This is an obvious fact […] Any expert understands this perfectly well. We have spoken so much about the Tomahawks that I see no point in repeating it,” Peskov said.
He made these remarks while commenting on a statement by the Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council and former President Dmitry Medvedev, who warned that the launch of Tomahawk missiles against Russian territory “could end badly for everyone.”
“A New Step of Aggression”
For his part, U.S. President Donald Trump said that sending Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv would constitute “a new step of aggression,” and that he had conveyed this to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. “Well, I don’t know. To be honest, maybe I’ll have to talk with Russia,” he added. “Do you want the Tomahawks heading toward them? I don’t think so. I think I’ll talk to Russia about that,” he reiterated.
Russia has repeatedly declared that no single weapon can change the course of the Ukrainian conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that delivering Tomahawks would destroy the positive trends in Moscow–Washington relations, as their use would be impossible without the direct participation of U.S. military personnel.
