Paris, May 26 (Prensa Latina) Cuban painter Francisco Rivero is offering in this capital an approach to his work as part of the Latin American and Caribbean Weeks in France, a work that he considers inspired by the joy of existing.

At the Cervantes Institute in Paris, around a dozen proposals in different formats by the plastic artist nourish the collective exhibition “Lo Intangible de lo Propio” (The Intangible of One’s Own), one of the events that started the 10th edition of the weeks on Thursday, dedicated to highlighting the cultural wealth and the political, economic and social life in Latin American and the Caribbean.

The joy of existing, and more in these times of such a complexity, this is how Rivero defined the message of his proposals when talking to Prensa Latina.

According to the artist, he is pleased to convey joy to others through his paintings, based on the beautiful assumption that it can be contagious.

Regarding the opportunity to share spaces with other Latin American painters and photographers, he described it as very pleasant.

It’s a moment of encounter among compatriots from Latin America and the Caribbean, said the artist, one of the first Cubans living in France to receive, in 2014, the Senate’s medal for his work in strengthening French-Cuban ties.

I’m a restless person, I don’t like to take a single path, so I’m discovering the way, that’s why, in the exhibition, there are paintings on canvas, silkscreen, collage and assemblage on wood, he stressed.

Diplomats and artists from Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador and Peru agreed on Thursday to celebrate the space that represents the 10th edition of the Latin American and Caribbean Weeks in France to strengthen ties and focus on regional unity.
