Havana, Oct 14 (Prensa Latina) Through the promotional campaign of its 43rd edition, the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema today bets on the return to theaters and endorses the value of the seventh art from the big screen.
Under the slogan Big Cinema, the event will take place from December 1 to 11, a period in which it will resume its traditional format after two years marked by the impact of Covid-19 and several adjustments in its screening calendar and collateral activities.
On this occasion, the image and communication campaign designed by Nelson Ponce and Raul Valdes (Raupa), refers to the value of the big screen in a context marked by the consumption of audiovisuals on mobile devices, while establishing a parallelism between everyday life and films.
“Cine a lo grande”, illustrates the path we wanted to take in terms of visuality, with a poster that is defined as the transition from a cell phone or tablet to projectors, Raupa explained from the official event headquarters in this capital.
He also pointed out that the current campaign merges different formats from the same point of view, in order to see things in perspective, evoke the interior space of the cinema, the customs and necessary measures to enjoy films without interruptions.
For his part, Ponce stressed the relevance of the project, which is always a challenge, because ‘the festival is one of the most traditional events in Cuba’ and in each edition the campaign tries to generate controversy and ignite the spark of curiosity.
With the communication campaign, it is our intention to make Latin American and international cinema part of the lives of spectators, who consume it throughout the year through different devices, but for December the Festival invites them to enjoy it on what is known as the big screen, the organizers said.
Founded on December 3, 1979 by Cuban filmmaker Alfredo Guevara and with the presence of more than 600 filmmakers, the Festival offers as its highest award the Grand Coral Award, which symbolizes the great reefs of the Caribbean Sea.
