A source from the Global Sumud Flotilla reported today that the convoy has been anchored for three days off the coast of Crete, pausing to reorganize and prepare for the final leg of the journey to Gaza.

Logistical Setback and Reorganization

From the social media profile of "La Desbandá," the source, identified as Eleonore, who is aboard one of the ships, explained that "at dawn on September 26th, it was learned that the Family, the coordination center for the flotilla, suffered an irreversible breakdown and will not be able to continue the mission."

According to Eleonore, the crew of the Family was redistributed among the remaining vessels. Six people were assigned to her ship, the Sirius-Haifa, which, in the words of the captain named Manolo, "will significantly increase the fraternity and human warmth on board."

Activities on the 26th focused on logistics and preparation, which included an emergency training session. The general expectation is to set sail today, September 27th, to navigate "in a straight line towards Gaza."

Symbolism and Solidarity

The source notes that in a symbolic analogy, Captain Manolo equated the Palestinian struggle with the legend of Theseus, who, with Ariadne's help, defeated the Minotaur on Crete.

"I think that Theseus and Ariadne represent the Palestinian people, who, through their struggle and with the support of world solidarity, will end the Zionist beast," the correspondent quotes the seasoned sailor.

Context of Violence and Protest

Eleonore points out that while the flotilla waits in Crete, news from Gaza confirms the brutality of the genocide, as in the last 24 hours, hospitals in the Strip received 47 corpses and 142 wounded.

From the international scene, she highlights the symbolic emptiness in the hall of the United Nations General Assembly during the speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—a gesture of global rejection that contrasts with the cruel measure of forcing Gazans to listen to his speech through loudspeakers deployed in the city.

A Tribute to Resistance

Eleonore's chronicle concludes with a tribute to resistance, recalling the Turkish communist poet Nazim Hikmet, imprisoned for 14 years. Manolo shared a fragment of his poem, dedicating it to his flotilla comrades:

"I have no intention of dying. / If I am killed, / I know I will continue to live on among you."
