Ankara, jul 18 (Prensa Latina) Described as one of the 25 wonders of the world by travel publications of the British publishing house Rough Guides, the fairy chimneys in Turkey are a valley carved by nature.

Located in the region of Cappadocia, between the cities of Nevsehir and Urgrup, they draw the attention of visitors by its geomorphological structures, to which erosion has shaped like roofed houses.

Their curious look is due to the accumulation of sediments, on which sits a sort of rock dome that is much more resistant to erosion.

Such forms were originally known as kales (castles), and after the arrival of tourists the area was re-baptized with the current name.

The magic legend goes back to the times in which human beings lived with other fantastic creatures. From remote times, local dwellers claimed that fairies lived inside the chimneys and were afraid of getting close.

Many people think that this extraordinary journey is more thrilling if you fly balloons at sunset to enjoy it. The sky shows the effects of sunlight projected on the light volcanic rock shaped by the wind and rain.

Many people use the site for trekking and spending the day at a natural setting that tells an interesting story with a unique origin.
