The documentary film "Maisinicu, Medio Siglo Despues" (Maisinicu, Half a Century Later-2023) directed by Mitchell Lobaina will be simultaneously premiered in 155 Cuban movie theaters on Thursday, as a tribute to the 63rd anniversary of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT).

The documentary film pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the film “El Hombre de Maisinicu” (The Man from Maisinicu, 1973), its filmmaker said recently.

Lobaina said this dream came true thanks to the collaboration of the film’s director, Manuel Perez.

The documentary film includes interviews with the movie’s leading directors, bringing the public closer to the original locations. Its film screening is part of the Summer Festival program, an initiative of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC). This emblematic cultural institution is also celebrating its 65th anniversary.
