Havana, Oct 7 (RHC) The first Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel toured Thursday areas of the province of Artemisa, affected by the passage of Hurricane Ian.

On its Twitter account, the Cuban Presidency reported that the president visited the 'Luis Carrasco' Popular Council, in the area of Bahía Honda, the territory with the greatest damage as a result of the hurricane that hit the western part of the island.

The head of state met with local authorities of the PCC and the government to whom he indicated to prioritize and speed up housing issues.

Díaz-Canel learned about the progress of the recovery work being undertaken so far with the help of resources and donations coming from other parts of the country.

Located on the northern coast of Cuba, Bahía Honda has 43 thousand of inhabitants, and Hurricane Ian damaged its housing fund, telephony, electrical system, and water supply (Source: ACN).
