Diaz-Canel praises Mexico’s response to fire in Cuba

Havana, Aug 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel thanked his Mexican counterpart, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, over the telephone on Wednesday for his country's support during the fire at the Supertanker Base in western Matanzas province.

The announcement was made by the Cuban head of State on his Twitter account, where he described as timely, effective and very necessary the prompt response from Mexico and reiterated his respect, admiration and affection for the people and government of Mexico “for such a true example of solidarity.

On the same platform, Diaz-Canel expressed his gratitude to the Venezuelan head of State, Nicolas Maduro, who said that his nation will support the reconstruction of the four crude oil tanks that burned down in Matanzas.

On Tuesday, President Maduro instructed authorities from the Venezuelan Ministry of Petroleum to make the corresponding arrangements to support the restoration of the industrial area affected by the fire.
